Paul Goble was born September 27, 1933, in Haslemere, Surrey, England. His interest in Native American legends began when he was a small boy in England, where his mother read the books of Grey Owl and Ernest Thompson Seton to her sons. After training at the Central School of Art and Design in London, Goble worked in industrial design for 18 years before becoming a full time author and illustrator of children's books.
